Welcome!!

When the Earth was created, a beautiful creature made it's way into existence.  With a beauty that cannot (in my opinion) be rivaled in the animal kingdom, the horse is one of our most precious resources.  Keeping that in mind, let me welcome you to my blog!  You will find, as it becomes available, a non-biased information base on horse rescues, rehabs, and racketeers.

Rescues are found all across the state and the country.  In order to find the right one to adopt, foster, or relinquish your animal to, you have to do your research!  That is where I come in.

Most rescues also do their own rehab work and are, essentially, one in the same.  There are a few exceptions to this, but those rehabs will be made available for review when I hear back from them.

The idea of rescuing and rehabilitating horses is mind boggling.  Take the medical bills, farrier bills, feed, and hay for one horse into consideration (mind you a vet charges to make farm calls and usually wind up costing in the $200-$500 range, farriers are at a minimum $30 every 6 weeks, and feed and hay for just my horse totals $300).  Take that bill for one and multiply it by at least five!  Could you do this?  If you think you might want to help, there are rescues that need volunteers and I will set a page up with a listing of those rescues as that info becomes available.

Now, we have touched on rescues and rehabs but what of the ever elusive racketeers?  Do you know what a racketeer even is?  Well, hold on to your boots, because here is the answer------------------------->  Racketeers are people who engage in dishonest and fraudulent business dealings.  In the world of horses, these people are often known as horse traders, kill buyers, or just plain bad rescues.  They are a dime a dozen and can drain you financially, if you have a giving heart.  My mission is to stop these people by keeping the public informed.  There are specific things that have to be made available to the public and I have requested that information.  There are other things that are recommended to be made available, and I have requested that information too!  One way or another, I will find every horse rescue in the state of Florida and place their information here on my blog!

The final decision to utilize these rescues is solely yours.  I can recommend you use or don't use a specific organization until my keys no longer work on my keyboard, but it will do no good.  Just remember, if you affiliate yourself with a racketeer rescue, you may wind up in a world of hurt physically, emotionally, and financially!  Trust me, I've been there and done that.  It isn't fun.

Ok, so that's my deal and I hope to provide you with reliable and accurate information.  If you have any questions, have reviews for any rescues I post about, or just want to drop me a line (for whatever reason), please feel free to e-mail me!!
